For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 2018 we are the Data Controller of the personal data we collect for certain purposes as described in this privacy notice.
We collect data from you in several different ways, depending on how you interact with us.
When you use this website, complete a survey, give feedback or in any other way engage with us through this website or personally, we may collect all or some of the personal data listed below. The amount of personal information you will share with us often depends on the level of your engagement with us and will require your consent for us to process this data in some cases. This means that if you submit personal data, your photograph, and any sensitive information in the comment box or by email, then you will be consenting for it to be shared publicly. If you do not want to be identified through the materials you have posted, then you should not include your name or any identifying information in the comment box and stay anonymous.

From time to time, we may outsource our customer or public research activities to third parties and invite you to take part. Any information or material collected by third party customer researchers about you may be used by us for both marketing and business purposes.
We will not use your information to carry out any automated profiling that could have a legal effect on you.
We do not aim our engagement platforms to children (under 18s), but the content may be used by families, including children. We encourage their use only if, and to the extent that, consent is given or authorized by the holder of parental responsibility over the child. Contributions of content to our own engagement platforms (e.g. Green Academy) will only be accepted from site users 18 and over. Engagement platforms provided by third parties may allow contributions from users 13 and over.
We will retain records of your name, email address, the history of the consents you have given and our communications (including any email correspondence between you and Redrow) for a period of seven years in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.
We generally keep your information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, and to fulfil our legal and regulatory obligations. You may unsubscribe from our marketing activities, and/or state that you are no longer interested in our homes, or products at any time by using the “unsubscribe” link in each email we send you, by following the optout instructions included in each of our SMSs, via your My Redrow account or by completing the Change Communication Preferences form at the bottom of the Privacy Notice page and follow the instructions in the email.
We will take reasonable steps to ensure that any third party we pass your personal information to protects and respects your information and complies with the relevant regulations.
We may share your information both within Redrow group of companies and relevant third-party business partners, both for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, or for other purposes approved by you.
We may pass your contact details to third parties to provide feedback from you, for example we use contractors to conduct surveys for us or help us to manage website content.
We may pass your details to these companies to enable them to contact you to take part or upload information on the platforms. We will do it relying on our legitimate interests unless you exercise your right to object. If you do not wish your data being processed this way uploading your comments or personal details may not be for you and you should not do so.
Some data uploaded for surveys is stripped of identifiable information, in other words anonymized however, some minimal footprint like IP address may still be collected and processed by Redrow or our chosen third parties.
In principle we do not aim to collect children’s data, but we understand that when collecting data about your family, photos and other details will be shared with us. We encourage the use only if, and to the extent that, consent is given or authorized by the holder of parental responsibility over the child. We will do not knowingly share children’s data unless we have the guardian’s consent to do so.
Please be aware that by contributing photographs or comments or other information to the engagement platform or website, that this is being made publicly available, so if you do not want yourself or family members to be identified then you should not include your name, children’s and family names or any other identifying information in the material posted.
Redrow may pass your contact details to our chosen solicitors if we are in dispute with you.
We as Redrow hold and process your personal information entirely within the UK. However, some partners we collaborate with may process your data outside of UK, but we are making sure those companies meet all Redrow’s and Data Protection standards.
We take the security of your personal information very seriously and our procedures have been accredited as meeting the UK Government’s Cyber Essentials Plus standard. In partnership with our third-party accredited security specialist, we undertake biannual testing on our websites and internal systems to determine and resolve any potential threats. We have a dedicated IT security team who monitor our network for vulnerabilities – we are always working to ensure your details are protected.
Access to our website is encrypted. Our servers are housed in secure environments and we follow strict procedures on accessing personal and other information. We operate professional backup and disaster recovery procedures and test them regularly.
When responding to your request to access information held by us about you, the information will be encrypted and password protected at all costs. When we provide you with a password for your data, we will inform you of the password via a different method from that which we used to send the data. For example, if we send you DropBox links via an email, we will post the password via Royal Mail, to ensure high levels of security. We store your personal information on our computer systems and in our paper records. Where paper records are used, Redrow collect and store it in a secure facility with restricted physical access to ensure that personal information is not damaged, destroyed or misused, and to prevent unauthorised access to your information. When we archive or destroy paper documents only accredited archiving services and documents shredding services companies are used which are contractually bound to comply with the Data Protection regulations.
In accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR), you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to correct it, erase it, ask us to discontinue or restrict processing it, to object to how we are using it, the right to data portability and the right to withdraw any consent previously given.
We will acknowledge your request and let you know what we will need from you to carry out your request. Every effort will be made to respond to or comply with your request as quickly as possible, and we will ensure our systems are updated as soon as is practicable in response to your request.
Not all of these rights are absolute rights and they may be subject to exceptions. Also, it is unlikely that the right to data portability will apply to personal information regarding you that we process. However, the right to withdraw any consent previously provided or to object to direct marketing are absolute rights.
You may see information we hold about you, correct it and change your communications preferences. Alternatively, you may write to us providing a) details of the information you wish to see, correct or have removed and b) a means by which we may verify your identity.
You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
