3 showers = 1 bath!

Did you H2O know this?

You can’t beat a good soak in the bath. Especially to help you relax. Although, it might stress you out knowing it costs more than if you hopped in the shower.

You don’t have to knock baths totally on the head, just stand under the showerhead more often.

Parents Top Tip!
To encourage your kids to shower instead of taking baths, ask them to give one of their favourite dolls or action figures a shower for you.

Money saving boiler challenge

What is it?

In October 2022, Nesta launched the Money Saving Boiler Challenge. This campaign aims to help over one million households change their combi boiler settings to save energy this winter.

The campaign helps households save money by lowering the flow temperature on their condensing combi boilers to 60°C. Our evidence suggests that households could save about 9% on their total gas bill by doing this, assuming their flow temperature is currently set at 80°C.

Board games

A cheaper way to stop the kids from getting bored.

It’s hard to imagine kids playing with something that hasn’t got a microchip in it. But, even if it’s just once a week, you could arrange a board game night.

Dust off your snakes and ladders. Dig out Monopoly. Search for Scrabble. We can’t guarantee no tantrums, but it could save you a few pounds on your electricity bill.

Have you got any other low-cost ways to keep the kids entertained? We’d love to hear them.
